Coral reefs are losing their color, weakening, and slowly disappearing. One of the reasons is chemical filters from sunscreen products that enter the water every year.
We created an alternative — one that allows you to tan without harming nature and without compromising skin health.
Why coral bleaching matters to all of us
Corals are living organisms that form vast reef systems. They clean ocean water, provide shelter for thousands of marine species, and help maintain natural balance.
But in recent decades, the world has been witnessing coral bleaching — a process where corals turn white and lose their ability to survive.
This happens due to rising ocean temperatures, pollution, and chemical substances that wash into the sea from sunscreen products.
How SPF creams harm the ocean
Many people don’t realize that chemical SPF filters can dissolve in water just minutes after swimming, forming a thin, oily film on the ocean’s surface.
Some of these components:
- slow coral growth,
- trigger coral bleaching,
- interfere with marine reproduction,
- accumulate in fish and return to humans through the food chain.
Each year, up to 14,000 tons of sunscreen enter the oceans — a massive burden on marine ecosystems.
Our solution: smart swimwear with built-in SPF protection
We don’t tell people to stop protecting their skin — sun protection is essential.
Instead, we found a more sustainable way to do it.
Our swimwear is made from an innovative mesh fabric that allows tanning while providing built-in SPF protection:
- SPF 50 in two-piece designs
- SPF 35 in one-piece styles
This means that for most beach activities, you don’t need to apply sunscreen to the areas covered by your swimsuit.
Less sunscreen — fewer chemical filters in the water — more chances for corals to recover.
